This quarantine has got me missing a lot of things, but especially the mozzarella dog from Ssong’s Hotdog in Columbia Mall. Since malls are closed, that also means Ssong’s is temporarily closed. I hope you are all staying safe during this quarantine. I debated whether or not I should continue posting my Yelp Quests, but this visit was from a while ago and I have so much content that I might as well catch up now that we have the time so that I can bring you new content when life resumes normally.

I went to get the mozzarella dog, but ​had to try the rice cake and sausage on a stick as well. I love rice cakes because I love their chewy texture. My mom taught me about the term “QQ” which means bouncy/chewy and they’re very QQ! The sausage also adds a great flavor since the rice cakes on their own are naturally rather bland. 

Now, for the main attraction! I went once and thought about this dog for weeks. Finally, went back one more time after that and ever since, I have not been able to stop thinking about it. I need it. So much so that I might try to  recreate it at home. The batter is so crispy, but airy, not heavy at all. The cheese becomes to melty and stringy (just the way I like it). I opted to add spicy mayo and all of it together — amazing! They do offer sugar, but I have never tried that yet, but will definitely as soon as this is all over!
