Our Quarantine Date

Quarantine is obviously going on a lot longer than anyone anticipated. There are many ways to go through this time whether that be staying productive, taking up new hobbies, working on old/new projects, or even just taking the time for yourself. I know that during this time I have used it to start new hobbies and projects, but I’ve also spent a good majority playing Animal Crossing and watching Netflix, both of which are completely okay!

Getting Back to Normalcy

I realize this is going to look very different for many people as the days go on. As for me, my boyfriend and I had a lil quarantine date! We decided to order takeout from Poke Fresh and took it to our local park to enjoy in the car with the windows down! This simple act was so enjoyable and felt normal! I encourage you to get outdoors if you can (I know that may not be possible for a lot of us), even just sitting outside for a few minutes to get some sense of normalcy.

Enough seriousness, I know you’re all here for the food. We ordered poke bowls and it was actually my boyfriends first time having it! Fun fact: he actually doesn’t enjoy raw fish,  so he prefers eel!

My bowl (left): white rice/mixed greens, salmon in house sauce, spicy crab, edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, corn, red onions, avocado, masago, sesame seeds, and fried onions.

His bowl (right): white rice, eel, spicy crab, red cabbage, edamame, jalapenos, lettuce, corn, sesame seed

Then, afterwards, we visited our favorite food truck, Quinn’s Ice! We’ve only ever gotten milkshakes from them, but I had a huge craving for ice cream so I got a cookie dough cup with vanilla ice cream and sprinkles! We love them because they’re lactose free which means guilt free for me! Our favorite milkshake is their strawberry shortcake! Highly recommend!
